The seriousness of the illness and the long periods of hospitalisation often mean that the patient and other family members accompanying them have to abandon their jobs, with the consequent economic problems.

The AFOL social worker will try, through the Social Services of each municipality and the Cabildo Insular, to manage the necessary financial support for these families.

The most frequent expenses, among others, are: Accommodation outside the island, Medicines, Aid for Prosthesis, Food Complements, etc.
